BFGoodrich Tires

“The everyday tire with performance that’s anything but,” is the heart and soul of BFGoodrich. The vision of BFGoodrich is to be innovative and deliver products that make a difference in society as a whole. This tire manufacturer opened its doors in 1870 when Dr. Benjamin Franklin Goodrich established BFGoodrich Tires in Akron, Ohio as the first rubber company in America. At the time, this made Ohio the rubber capital of the world. In 1910 BFGoodrich introduced carbon black into rubber compounds to improve abrasion resistance and add tread life. In 1947 they invented the first tubeless tire. In 1976 they developed the world’s first light truck performance radial tire, the Radial All-Terrain T/A, and in 1980 developed the Radial Mud-Terrain T/A, the world’s first light truck radial mud tire.

BFGoodrich has been in many benchmark events throughout history in its 138 years of production. In 1927 Charles Lindbergh shocked the world with his nonstop flight from New York to Paris. Lindbergh landed in Paris with BFGoodrich tires. Ten years later scientists at BFGoodrich discovered a new method to produce synthetic rubber. This discovery aided the United States to win World War II since the nation’s natural supply of rubber was cut off. In 1961 NASA asked BFGoodrich to design materials to protect astronauts, and BFGoodrich delivered.

The newest tires added to the BFGoodrich product line are the Advantage T/A and g-Force Super Sport A/S (H & V). The Advantage T/A is developed for excellent wet and dry traction with a interlocking sipe design that increases grip in all kinds of weather and a 60,000 mile warranty. The g-Force Super Sport A/S features tenacious grip in dry, wet and snowy conditions, enhanced water evacuation and cutting edge aesthetics.

BFGoodrich also recently launched the Long Trail T/A Tour. This is an extremely well developed tire noted for consistent performance in all four seasons. The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts with BFGoodrich’s unique Equal Tension Containment System, or ETEC. This system includes dual spiral wrapped nylon to help the tire retain shape at highway speeds for a responsive ride and durability. Finally, BFGoodrich stands behind the Long Trail T/A Tour with a limited warranty for 6 years, This covers all workmanship defects and dry rot and is the highest workmanship warranty in the industry. The Long Trail T/A Tour is a highway all-season, light truck tire that was developed for crossover and sport utility vehicles that offers great comfort and wear.

One of the most popular BFGoodrich truck tires is the All-Terrain T/A KO. The KO stands for Key benefit, On & Off road capabilities. This tire is designed with the mindset of  go anywhere traction. The All-Terrain T/A KO also has great wear and durability with some consumers reporting over 70,000 miles of use. The All-Terrain T/A KO has a shoulder lock upper sidewall that gives the tire a clawing action. The tire’s internal design includes the BFGoodrich TriGard. This includes a 3ply polyester sidewall ply wrapped in a single wire bead that is overlapped multiple times until the desired strength is provided. The All-Terrain T/A KO actually has a legacy due to so many loyal customers.
